10月18日消息，今天外媒网站Windows Central 发布文章，称据其拿到的微软内部数据，目前Windows 11每月有超过4亿台活跃设备，预计到明年初这一数据将达到5亿。从数据来看，Windows 11发布于2021年10年，微软用了两年时间才将Win11的活跃设备提升到4亿。相比于前代产品Windows 10要慢了很多，Windows 10仅仅用了一年就达到了同样的用户量，并2020年初达到10了亿用户。
但是这两代产品还是有很多不同的。微软发布Windows 10的时候，一直在宣传可以为期一年免费升级，这就促使用户赶紧升级避免错过时间。而且绝大部分使用Windows 7和Windows 8电脑都可以升级到Windows 10。
但是Windows 11的升级政策就比较严格了，由于对处理器和TPM 2.0存在要求，因此几乎就只有2018年及以后生产的PC才能正式支持，这就断绝了很多老电脑的升级之路。根据调查，有近1/4的人由于限制而无法升级到Windows 11系统。
因此在发布之初，微软就对Windows 11的用户量期望没有太高，但是Windows 11的表现却远超出了微软的预期。尽管人们一直在吐槽Windows 11的各种问题，但还是有相当多的人选择了升级。现在，大家都在期待明年即将发布的Windows（可能被命名为Windows 12），微软有望带来革命性的新AI特性和云功能支持。
